Care of the Sick .......................July 18

"Before all things and above all things
care must be taken of the sick.
They must be served in every deed
as Christ Himself."

St. Benedict

Here is the meaning of the French words:

[In the beam of light:] Look upon My Wounds ...

[At the bottom:] The response of Faith to the too common complaint (of a sufferer): Never look at your own crosses except through the Cross of the Savior ... and they will then seem mild. ... Place your heart in communion with the Sacred Heart. ... Thus you will suffer less, and in a better way.

Friends,

Anne - Oh yes, I can't believe how this card was already in the "que" to be posted automatically. Let us pray for our "papa" and his healing.

John - Thank you for always doing such a beautiful job. These words are really wonderful and without your translation they would go unknown...by me anyway. What a strength we gain from taking them into our heart.

diddleymaz - I'm enjoying my "hug from Mary" right now. Thank you for that picture.

Not only do the holy cards inspire, but your daily quotes have been an inspiration. Thank you.

Diane S. - If the Lord can use be to inspire you I'm very blessed.
Thank you for your always being here.

Anonoymous - Thank you for your appreciation of the quotes. Sometimes a quote just shouts out to be used with a certain card...other times I just have to hope that someone, beside me, enjoys also. Thank you.

Thank you so much for sharing. Perfect timing.... my little girl has been sick for 5 weeks! I think she is "FINALLY" starting to feel a little better. Took her to the infectious disease Dr. yesterday and I think "FINALLY" they figured out what to do for her. And, ABSOLUTELY prayers for our Papal as well. What an inspiration he is....He said Mass right before he had his surgery. He put Christ and his people before himself. What a sacrifice!! Blessings~JMJ~Lisa S.

Micki, hi and big hugs :) ! I missed you when you were gone. I'm certain we all did. It's just not the same without you.

That quote from St. Benedict -- "Before all things and above all things care must be taken of the sick. They must be served in every deed as Christ Himself" -- I'm thinking... our Holy Father did just that when He celebrated Mass before surgery - taking care of the sick before and above all things. An example set before us.

I'm so grateful, John, for your translations as always, and for this one in particular. Suffering less and in a better way can be jarring to try, even to think of. It's a good reflection to carry about 'in the hip pocket' for a whole day and see just what pops up as applicable.

Good weekend and especially a good Sunday to you Micki and to all.

Lisa, Aspiring and Prayerflowers - Hello to the three of you. Forgive me for being a little late in responding to your comments.
Lisa, I pray your daughter is back to normal. It's so hard when our children are not at their best. Her angel will bring her comfort too I'm sure.

Aspiring - You are so sweet to say you missed me. Had a family wedding in upstate New York....it's always good to get back to Indiana though.

Prayerflowers - Hi dear. You are always in my prayers. I hope for the best always for you. Angel hugs...do you feel them?
