*First Station of the Cross..........March 29

Jesus Is Condemned To Death

O Jesus, innocent Victim for the sins of the world, I thank You for Your boundless love in suffering injustice for my sake. Grant me pardon for my sins and a merciful judgment at the end of my life.

"Crucify Him, crucify Him!"
As sinners, we, too, join the crowd in shouting
"crucify Him".

O Jesus, so meek and uncomplaining, teach me resignation in trials.

The "SPQR" at the base of the picture, oft seen in depictions of this period, are the Latin initials of "Senatus PopulusQue Romanus," meaning, "The Senate and the Roman People."

Hi, Micki.

Are you beginning to bless us with a beautiful and moving set of cards for each of the fourteen stations of the cross -- with helpful verbal meditations to boot? If so, I will look forward to it and thank you. (If not, I will thank you, just the same, for this one.)

...AND SO IT BEGINS!

Thnaks, Micki, for the great meditations and hopefully on the whole 14 Stations of the Cross. What a beautiful way to end the last days of Lent.

John, you always amaze me in your great command of language, it would take me forever to figure out all the different languages on these cards. Thank you so much.

As always in the Three Hearts,
The Sacred Heart of Jesus,
The Immaculate Heart of Mary,
The Just and Humble Heart of Joseph. In these Three Hearts I place my trust.

John - Yes, my goal is these last 14 days of Lent to do the stations. After Easter I'll rearrange them so as you scan through the blog they will scan down in order 1-14.
Thank you for the Latin translation. Very interesting.

LoveStJoseph - I'm glad that you too will be looking forward to the stations.
Let me just add that I love your "three hearts".....I was wondering who the 3rd heart would be. May I say, my favorite saint.
Thank you.
