Borrowed Time..........July 10

"When God gave you to me
He never said that you were mine,
that I could keep you always--only borrowed for a time. Now, He's called you home,
I'm sad and I shed tears.
Yet, I'm glad He loaned you to me and we had
these many years."

I love St. Joseph! I wish that I could imitate him better.

Thank you, Easter A, for your kind words to me yesterday.

Irene, yesterday you asked Micki in which work of St. Francis of Assisi she had found the quotation that she used, but she could not remember. I did a little digging and found it for you.

The words of St. Francis were quoted by Fr. Benedict Groeschel, C.F.R., in his book, "In the Presence of Our Lord." Fr. Benedict said that they were taken from a "Letter to a General Chapter" (i.e., a gathering of all the friars) and that he found the text in "St. Francis of Assisi: Writings for a Gospel Life," a 1994 book by a Capuchin named Regis J. Armstrong.

John - You absolutely make me laugh out loud. Leave it to you, the brains behind my blog, to come up with where I found that quote.
I would never have been able to find it myself. How do you do it?
Hugs, Blessings, and a big smile to you.
