Mother of our Creator.........October 13

"Sometimes
when I find myself spiritually in dryness so great
that I cannot produce a single good thought,
I recite very slowly an Our Father
or a Hail Mary.
These prayers alone console me.
They nourish my soul."

St. Therese of Lisieux

Hi Micki,
Hope you had a great trip. Beautiful cards. Love the quote from St. Therese today...a friend just emailed me yesterday about being in a very dry spell. I will forward her this quote. God bless you for blessing so many,

Micki, I'm happy you are back. Here's another wise quotation from one of St. Therese's Carmelite predecessors, St. John of the Cross, "Never give up prayer, and should you find dryness and difficulty, persevere in it for this very reason. God often desires to see what love your soul has, and love is not tried by ease and satisfaction."

How wonderful to know that our creator is "Our Father" and the mother of his son our "Mother." How much more emphasised to me now that i haven't my earthly parents. While here on earth they represented my parents as that was the job(per say) the lord gave to them. Now my line for everything is directly to the blessed Mother and God our Father. My soul nourishment.Amen Amen,Amen.

Daily Grace - "nourishment of my soul"....that's the goal of this blog. Thank YOU.

Prayerflowers - Hi dear M.A.
That sounds just like you....uplifting someone else. You are such an angel to so many. Thank you.

Ruth Ann - What a fantastic quote by St. John of the Cross. Thank you for bringing it to my attention. I particularly love your last words.."love is not tried by ease and satisfaction." We are all so afraid of suffering and yet it will be in all our lives. We are blessed to have Him as our model.

Lisa S. - So glad you are another fan of dear St. Therese. I pray more people would learn the lives and what they offer to us of these beautiful saints.

Anonymous - You brought back memories of my own experience, similar to yours. After losing my parents I also felt a much closer relationship with our Heavenly Mother and Father. I still think it's a beautiful image to know they are here with us at all times.
