Religious order Nuns take temporary vows for a certain amount of time.
Then they take final vows.
Here is a holy card once sent to a nun who just took final vows.

French words:[Above the cross:]"Love ... Sacrifice"
[Beside the cross:]"I unite my cross to Yours, Lord. I walk after You toward Calvary, to be crucified. I wish, when it will be Your will, to die between Your arms."

Friends,
As Micki stated, the three traditional vows are named at the top of the card.
Here is the meaning of the rest of the French words:
[Above the cross:]
"Love ... Sacrifice"
[Beside the cross:]
"I unite my cross to Yours, Lord. I walk after You toward Calvary, to be crucified. I wish, when it will be Your will, to die between Your arms."
The above words are quoted from the French priest, Fr. Francois Fenelon (d. 1715).

Micki, you are such a tremendous source of inspiration and learning to me with your beautiful holy cards. I love how fresh and new these ancient pictures and prayers can be. Thank you, thank you so much!
Thank you so much. I am going to make a copy of this for my daughter Kara. She is really thinking hard on becoming a Nun. She is very excited because there is a Nun in Arizonia who is talking with her. I think a Franciscan nun? What a wonderful blessing that would be for her and our whole family. Blessings~JMJ~Lisa S.
Micki,
This is Holy Card is so moving. I am copyingg it in hopes that we will put it into our church bulletin if not on our Legion board along weith the English translation. It would please God if he had more brides you devoted themselves totally to Pverty, Chastiy and Obedience.
Thank you
Michele
John - Another beautifulo translation that touches my heart. Thank you so much.
Anne - Thank you for such kind words. All praise goes to HIM.
Lisa - Thanks to God....I will keep your daughter in prayer. I will pray that she hears God's will for her. How wonderful that she is discerning a religious vocation.
Michele - That sounds like such a good idea. I think it's so difficult for today's girls/women to see the beauty of a religious vocation because there are so few for them to look up to for guidance. I will also pray for your endeavor.
I recently attended a discernment retreat/program in Boston @ the Daughters of St. Paul Motherhouse, and I can't help but loved how the way they said, "Poverty is 'I love you God above all material things,' Chastity is, 'I love you God above all peoples,' and Obedience is, 'I love you God above everything, even above my own will'" :-) This really reminded me of that and made me smile. Thanks so much for posting this!!
CT - Thanks for stopping by. I pray your discernment process is going well for you. I know the Lord is with you and Mary is holding you in her arms and wanting for you to find the answer to your questions. God bless you.
