"We must never fail to thank our Lord
after we have received some sign of goodness,
some benefit, from Him.
For God loves grateful hearts
and heaps blessings on them.

IMAGO SACRA MILLE GRATIARUM VALET. ("A holy picture is worth a thousand graces")................... This blog is a means to show some of my holy card collection along with some interesting thoughts and inspirations. "....artists have the privilege in the Church and throughout history, to open up so that people can see the mystery of God. The artist speaks, not just literally, but symbolically. Visual images, if well done, can move us. That's a ministry." Quote from Brother Michael Moran, C.P

AF - Thank you for offering this message. May it also help others.
I just noticed this today, Micki (08/09/08): Jesus' image is cast onto a door. I missed that altogether earlier. It's truly a wonderful image with many of our beloved truths depicted. AspiringFOOL(FriendOfOurLord)
p.s. Do you know what is in Jesus' hands? His heart? Or something else? I can't make it out with any conviction. A.F.
Anonymous - I don't think there is anything in His hands. I think they are just in that position to show He gives all sorts of things... When you give to someone your hand is in the open position but then when you take it is also open so I guess the artist just wants us to see what we want.
AF - And I just noticed that Anony. is YOU :-)
You are so right...that is a door...how observant you are and I love that you share that with us. Maybe a "tabernacle"?????
I'm just always so happy to learn new things about my old cards!
Thank you. Hey, are there just "men" in your life or do you have some sisters, daughters etc. too?
Are you being nice or not, Micki? LOL! In answer to the second part of your question - Yes, Yes, Yes! Veryvery many! My grandmothers, great-grandmothers (the ones I knew), my mothers, my daughters and my sisters alone number - true story - thirty-four. Not to mention OTHER "daughters" and "mothers" and "sisters;" or countless aunts and nieces and women-cousins; or countless women-friends and acquaintances. Whew! The numbers are staggering even to me! With love and prayer for them all, AspiringFOOL(FriendOfOurLord)
p.s. ... and then there are the mothers-in-law of my sons and daughters, too! I'll be adding to these numbers all day I think, Micki! Nice to have them all of these women, as one body so to speak, in my mind and heart. A.F.
AF - You are so blessed. I'm rather female deprived what with no sisters and no daughters. I do have one daughter-in-law and two ex-daughters-in-law. One sister-in-law and one granddaughter. :-(
wonderful card- wonderful quote
God Bless!
TEA - Thank you for your always so kind remarks. I sure am blessed to have viewers like you.
