150th Anniversary of Our Lady of Lourdes - Monday of the First Week of Lent

Today we celebrate the 150th anniversary of the first apparition of the Blessed Virgin Mary to the humble Bernadette at Lourdes, France. When Bernadette asked the Beautiful Lady her name, she replied: "I am the Immaculate Conception."

"We have only one thing that we must do--that is, pray to the Blessed Virgin. Ask her for the grace to love our Lord as she loves Him and to remain faithful to Him in life and in death."
St. Bernadette Soubirous

What a spectacular card, especially when enlarged! God gave wonderful talents to many artists.

Thankyou, Micki, for the most beautiful card of Our Lady of Lourdes, which is one of my favorite titles of Our Lady.

Thank you for this one, Micki, it is beautiful. As I said in my message "tagged onto" the end of the Feb 9th posts, I'm staying with my parents in Leamington Spa at the moment, so my little girl can spend time with her grandparents. Access to the net is limited from here, but I'm doing my best to catch up when I can! I will "see" you all when I get home.
Best Regards, Lynneda

Micki, just wanted to let you know I LOVE this card. OLOL was my first medal, received the day I was born. The midwife had brought it from Lourdes! OLOL is also my in-laws family parish and has been for over 100 years. Anyway....I hope it's OK if I post this card at my site in honor of OLOL today. (you will get full credit of course!!!)

John - I wonder if there are as many artists out in the world today that will give such pleasure to people a hundred years from now.

D.S. - Nice to know that. Doesn't she have something like 155 titles?

Lynneda - Enjoy your visit. Come back all rested and ready for your next big project!

Angela M. - What a fantastic story about receiving OLOL medal when you were born. That is so special.
Thanks for sharing the card with your viewers.

Thank you, dear Micki! :-)

Lynneda, how wonderful of you to do that for Claudine and your grandparents! That is what Lent is all about: doing acts of love, reproducing what Jesus did for us on the cross in ways we know how. :-)

To God be all glory! :-)

Micki, by the way, I also read all your replies to us. Thank you!!!!!

This card is very special to me.
My dad, Thomas Laughlin passed away on Feb. 11, 2008. I like to think Our Lady of Lourdes took my dad to heaven on her feast day.
