I had some trouble with this translation, so please correct it if necessary. I think that the French words mean the following:
At the top: "God is stern only toward the ungrateful."
At the bottom: "Bless my love, which has protected you. ... And see how these souls are to be pitied. ... They do not even know that they have a heart capable of loving their God!"
