Mother of India..........August 13

From Mary we learn to surrender
to God's Will in all things.
From Mary we learn to trust even when
all hope seems gone.
From Mary we learn to love Christ
her Son and the Son of God!

Pope John Paul II

Beautiful pictures of Mary and all the words attributed to her! Thank you, dear Micki.

Friend of Our Lord, I am with you.

I love this image! It is so beautiful and non-traditional. It is always good to remember Mary's example and strive to follow it. Thank you for the great quote!

Very nice holy card, but I don't think our Lady would wear those earrings nor especially that nose ring! :)

AF - What a gift of love you give about Mary. Thank you.

Easter - Thank you for commenting today. I'm sure you are very busy with all you have just gone through. Everything in place?

Cassie - Are we not fortunate to have all those saints saying such memorable things to help us. Thanks for appreciating them.

Sanctus Belle - If she were Indian I'm sure she would. I'm glad she came from where she did. Don't you just laugh at some of these artist's imaginations?

I had to laugh when I saw Sanctus Belle's comment. How true! I cannot imagine the Blessed Mother with a nose ring!

I love the image of Mary with the Infant Jesus so much. I have several different images around my house, I love them so much, as I am always inspired by the miracle of Jesus' humanity. But I am always amazed at how many differnt images there are, how much Our Lady is loved all over the world. Thank you for sharing all of your beautiful images.

Sort of. That is my response (but we both know God's time and timing are always perfect). I get cross-eyed every once in awhile... hehehe... then I come here and I know I am OK. :-)

Thank you for all your comments, dear Micki!

Cassie - You said it so well when you said how wonderful it is to know Mary is so loved all over the world. Makes me happy to think about that too.

AF - I'm still laughing when you said "finding words is a challenge". Somehow I don't think you have trouble finding words. You always say everything from your heart. How sweet is that.

Easter - You are all causing me to have a big smile as I read these comments...then here you come with "cross-eyes".....(insert huge smile here from me)

Thank you all....the comments today are very good.

The image is Hindu in style so maybe not our tradition but follows Hindu tradition; same with jewelry. Hindu girls have their ears pierced as babies.

In re: pierced noses, the first person I ever met with a pierced nose was the neighbor kids grandma, here from India for the summer. They were Hindu and she had a diamond stud in her nose.

Well Rebekah, Abraham's niece, wore a nose-ring (Genesis 24:22, though some translations just call it a ring) So it wasn't unknown in the Hebrew world, so it might not have been so inconceivable for Our Lady to. She probably didn't, though, because she was poor.

This is a beautiful blog!
