"A man who works with his hands is a laborer;
a man who works with his hands and his mind is a craftsman;
but a man who works with his hands and his brain
and his heart is an artist. "

IMAGO SACRA MILLE GRATIARUM VALET. ("A holy picture is worth a thousand graces")................... This blog is a means to show some of my holy card collection along with some interesting thoughts and inspirations. "....artists have the privilege in the Church and throughout history, to open up so that people can see the mystery of God. The artist speaks, not just literally, but symbolically. Visual images, if well done, can move us. That's a ministry." Quote from Brother Michael Moran, C.P
"A man who works with his hands is a laborer;
a man who works with his hands and his mind is a craftsman;
but a man who works with his hands and his brain
and his heart is an artist. "

Hi Micki,
I love this quote from St. Thomas Aquinas. Where did you find it? It puts so clearly something I have been thinking about lately... the difference between a laborer and a craftsman and an artist. Lo and behold, I find the answer when visiting your blog. Talk about grace! Thank you for being open to God.
Do you know what has happened to Kay's blog (I believe that is her name) He Gently Calls Us? Is she okay? Your blog and hers are among my favorites. I had some computer problems and when I got back online I found her blog isn't available.
God bless you and keep up the great work. You have a real talent for picking pictures and quotes that are perfect.

Dear Micki,
What a wonderful quote by St. Thomas Aquinas. Thank you for sharing!
Prayerflowers - Yes, I just know you would be the one who would be the best to have a conversation with him. He would love you even more than he already does I'm sure.
Fr. Scott - When searching where I found this quote I also discovered it was attributed to St. Francis of Assisi also. Here is where I found it though...

CT - So nice to see you here again. I'm ready to leave our snow and cold and come visit you in beautiful HI. Thank you.
How does one get a copy of this picture suitable for framing. I lost this picture in a fire and it belonged to my father and I have no idea where he got it.
