This blog is a means to show some of my holy card collection along with some interesting thoughts and inspirations. "....artists have the privilege in the Church and throughout history, to open up so that people can see the mystery of God. The artist speaks, not just literally, but symbolically. Visual images, if well done, can move us. That's a ministry." Quote from Brother Michael Moran, C.P

Oh my goodness, this is one of the most beautiful holy cards I've ever seen. It almost brings me to tears. Just look at the expression on the face of each child. . . The artist has captured so eloquently the awe, love, and wonder that we felt as children when we approached the crib.
Thank you so much for sharing this. Wow!!!

I have to agree. My only reservation is that it is so 20th century, and I am still stuck in the 19th.
Kay - Your comments bring out the "artist" in you. So glad you were so moved. Thanks.
Irene - Doesn't sound too bad to be stuck in the 19th century...except for the lack of "modern conveniences" :-)
Oh that card reminds me of the Nativity set we had in our Church when I was growing up over 40 years ago. The same set is still being used to this day. It is almost life size with the most gorgeous lights, trees and especially the Baby Jesus nestled in the hay.
Thank you for sharing this picture perfect reminder.
Merry Christmas,

JStolle - Isn't it wonderful how something as simple as a holy card can bring back memories from our youth? Thank you for sharing this with us. Thank you also for being a first time commenter. Do join in again.
