Love..............February 14

"Love cannot remain by itself--
it has no meaning.
Love has to be put into action
and that action is service.
A mission of love can come only from
union with God.
From that union, love for the family,
love for one's neighbor,
love for the poor is the natural fruit."

Blessed Teresa of Calcutta

"My soul longs to be nourished with Thy body:
my heart desires to be united with Thee."

I ALWAYS LOVE THIS TYPE OF PICTURES OF JESUS AND A PENITENT SOUL. THE ARTIST SEEMS TO CAPTURE THE TENDERNESS OF OUR DEAR LORD.

THANK YOU FOR THE QUOTE BY BLESSED MOTHER TERESA OF CALCUTTA. I LOVE ANYTHING BY HER, MAY SHE SOON BE CANONIZED A SAINT IN THE CHURCHES CALENDER.

HOW BLESSED WE ARE THAT JESUS GIVES HIMSELF TO US IN THE BLESSED EUCHARIST IN THE FORM OF BREAD AND WINE. SUCH ORDINARY THINGS, YET THEY ARE NOT. BECAUSE OUR SOULS ARE TRANSFORMED BY THE GRACES OUR LORD BESTOWS ON A FAITHFUL SOUL AT THE TIME OF RECEPTION! STE. THERESE DE LISIUEX PUT IT SO PERFECTLY, "JESUS DOESN'T COME TO REMAIN IN THE TABERNACLE AND CIBORIUM, BUT TO COME INTO OUR SOULS!" SO BEAUTIFUL A SENTIMENT! JOHN K.

Josef 63 - Yes, I too pray she is "Sainted" in my lifetime. To have seen the work and the love of a true saint is breathtaking. Thanks once again for your inspiring words.

Beautiful look at the use of the altar rail - what a horrible loss to have the vast majority removed so now we recieve our Blessed Lord standing. How I pray for their return.

Sanctus Belle - Yes, I know what you mean. Our church still has the railing but we don't use it. What a shame. I recently heard of a church where people continue to stand after they receive the Eucharist until the entire church has received and then they all sit down.....maybe they even removed the kneelers. Such a shame.
