"If you want God to hear your prayers, hear the voice of the poor.
If you wish God to anticipate your wants, provide those of the needy without waiting for them to ask you.
Especially anticipate the needs of those who are ashamed to beg.
To make them ask for alms is to make them buy it."
-- St. Thomas of Villanova
Today is the feast of St. Catherine of Alexandria. I don't always use a holy card of the "saint of the day" but you can see a beautiful picture of St. Catherine and read about her life by by clicking here.
.
Today is also the feastday of Saint Catherine of Alexandria, virgin and martyr.
ReplyDeleteDear Micki, the latest 3 images have been wonderful, I echo the sentiments of the other readers! Thank you (and yes it does snow in some the Holy Land sometimes in certain places)
ReplyDeleteJust beautiful! Thankyou, Micki, for sharing this card and powerful quote.

Dear Micki and friends,
ReplyDeleteSorry that I have had to be away so long -- exactly a month. I've just enjoyed viewing the cards and comments
that I had missed while away.
I've also just finished posting messages on the "comments" pages for 8 of the last 31 days. Most of my messages
contain translations, but a few of them contain other things (including a November 23 note to Fr. L. Richards on
the subject of Jesus, St. Joseph, and the snow).
Here are links to the pages that I just "extended" by adding a message ...

A very nice image of Jesus and His followers. I wish we could see more of these type of paintings of Jesus and His everyday life. As much as I love the pictures of the Sacred Heart I really like this type that isn't seen too often.
ReplyDeleteMay we imitate the followers in the picture, by sitting down at the feet of Jesus and listen to His message.
I hope that you and yours will have a Thanksgiving that is spent creating many happy memories that will sustain you throughout the years! Let us sing songs of Praise and Thanksgiving to the Lord for His generous love and blessings! John K.
Meldelen - I posted the extra notice about a good site for St. Catherine. Thanks.
ReplyDeletediddleymaz - Always a smile to see you stop by. Thanks.
Diane - I'm thinking about you and all the preparations you are probably going through today for tomorrow. Big Hug.
John - Lots of good work on your partl. I'm sure others will appreciate it. Thanks.
John K - The best thing you said is that we should "listen" to Jesus. Too many of us do all the talking. Great advice. Thanks.
This is a beautiful holy card, Micki
ReplyDeleteCarol - Welcome and thank you for your kind compliment.
