TIME - Sunday of the Fourth Week of Lent

"Time is too slow for those who wait,
too swift for those who fear,
too long for those who grieve,
too short for those who rejoice,
but for those who love,
time is eternity."

Henry Van Dyke

  1. Micki, the verse is soooooo true and the holy card is exquisite in its simplicity and loveliness--it is a picture to be framed and looked at often.

  3. What a fantastic card, Micki... full of reflections, as life should be. A lovely piece of art that just keeps me looking at it. I'd rather like a large version of this on my wall. Many Thanks,
    Best Regards, Lynneda

  4. D.S. - I pray the peace of the picture touches your soul. I wonder if they ever were in a boat together or if that is just an artist's interpretation.

Prayerflowers - Hope you are well and enjoying "Rejoice" Sunday. I didn't remember that that is what Laetare means.

Lynneda - Absolutely, I wish I had a large version of this too. I have the perfect wall for it.

Anna - Thank you for stopping by.

  6. Never before had I seen the Holy Family pictured in a boat! What a marvelous collection you have, Micki, always presenting something new -- or a fresh look at something familiar and much loved!

After returning from Egypt, Jesus, Mary, and St. Joseph lived in Nazareth, only about fourteen miles from the See of Galilee. It is plausible that they went out onto the water in a little boat. In his youth, St. Joseph may have learned how to manage such a craft.

  7. My oh my, sweet Micki!

You sure amaze us! I know I get busy with homeschooling and cannot visit you everyday, but in my heart, I know I have to come... And today, Sunday, here I am and I find myself astounded by this beautiful depiction of travel by the Holy Family. Its uniqueness is making my eyes stare at it with much joy! To God be all praise for His beauty! And Micki, thank you for generously sharing with us God's beauty through this holy card and all your holy cards!

Lynneda, what a joy it was to hear from you!

    Love,
    Easter:-)

  9. Ed -Thank you for your faithful and faith-filled comments.

John - You know your foreign translations and now you help me with your geography...nice to know they (the Holy Family) were not that far from water.

Easter - I love your sentence "To God be all praise for His beauty!"
    So very true!

  10. Oh, I love this one. In the quiet so much is spoken. I can almost hear their prayers.
