IMAGO SACRA MILLE GRATIARUM VALET. ("A holy picture is worth a thousand graces")................... This blog is a means to show some of my holy card collection along with some interesting thoughts and inspirations. "....artists have the privilege in the Church and throughout history, to open up so that people can see the mystery of God. The artist speaks, not just literally, but symbolically. Visual images, if well done, can move us. That's a ministry." Quote from Brother Michael Moran, C.P

Blindfolded Jesus, Saturday of the Third Week of Lent
I cannot remember ever seeing Jesus depicted with a blindfold before today. St. Luke (22:64) tells us, "They also blindfolded him and asked him, 'Prophesy! Who is it that struck you?'"
Thank you for your amazing blog. by making these images of Holy Cards available to everyone you do such a great service to the Sacred Heart of Jesus, for your work here is such an act of love for Him!
i thank you for allowing me to download images to my own hard drive. i meditate on many of the mysteries they reveal and some of them i have printed out for my own inspiration and inspiration for others.
i have linked your blog to my livejoural account and let others know of your web site often.
May our Crucified Lord envelop you with His Divine Love always!
I've never seen an image of Jesus blindfolded either and it brought to mind that same passage that John quoted. Amazing how we are all united in faith.
I'm hoping Fiorghra knows about the other holy card blog and is visiting and downloading images from there also. If not, here's the link: He Gently Calls Us
Also, I want to let everyone know how much I enjoy the comments here as well as at my blog, and a special thanks to John for the translations.
And thank you Micki for such a beautiful site. Kay
D.S. - I'm sure you are not the only one who gets tears when contemplating on His suffering.
John - Thank you so much for the bible verse that talks about the blindfolding of our Lord. I didn't know that.
fiorghra - Thank you for your blessing. I need that :-) I welcome you as a first time comments.
Kay - Yes, I was surprised to know there was a bible verse regarding the blindfolding. Very interesting. Thanks to all bloggers who add information for us to learn about our dear Lord.
WOW!!! Micki, this is giving me the shivers, it is so striking! I, too, have never seen a picture of Christ blindfolded, and certainly not this way. The representation of him being in this state is poignant! It will be in my meditation.
BTW I thank you. I have used one of your pics for a post this week. Thanks Micki! :-)
Hi Micki, I was home too late to make comment yesterday, so I hope you won't mind me doing two comments in one day.
How fantastic this card is. Like so many already, I have never seen any depiction of Jesus blindfolded before. A real first for me, and another aspect of His ordeal to ponder on. Many Thanks. Best Regards, Lynneda
Easter - Thank you for posting one of the holy cards. They are here to be enjoyed by all...to His glory. :-) I get the "shivers" looking at this picture too...my sins weigh heavier everytime I see this.
Lynneda - It's like hitting the "inspiration" jackpot when a card surprises people because they've never seen that depiction. Hope it also adds to your "meditations."
