(At the bottom:)
"Assisi Is Miraculously Rescued. As the saint raised the Sun of justice above the walls that the enemies were already attacking, it seemed that a lightning bolt suddenly resounded. They were all turned over, knocked down, and blinded."

Friends,

Here is the meaning of the French words:

(At the top:)
"St. Claire, Virgin and First Abbess of the Poor Clares -- Feast, August 12"

(At the bottom:)
"Assisi Is Miraculously Rescued. As the saint raised the Sun of justice above the walls that the enemies were already attacking, it seemed that a lightning bolt suddenly resounded. They were all turned over, knocked down, and blinded."

Hi Micki,

I'll continue posting anonymous until I regularly view your site like I want. Also, http://saints.sqpn.com provided good information on each saint's life. Bless you for this holy source of inspiration.

Tom

P.S. Thanks to everyone who earlier welcomed me back to the Church :)

My husband and I chose Claire because, aside from the fact that it was the ONLY girl's name we could agree on, I really love St.
Clare. We live in a diocese where the Poor Clares have a monastery. Before meeting my husband, I had visited them thinking that may be my vocation. Turns out, God had other plans for me. I am happy and thankful to have named my first daughter after such an incredible Saint. Thanks for asking.

God bless,
Stephanie
