*One Month Ago Today..............January 25

Are you still celebrating Christmas?

"Celebrate the feast of Christmas every day, even every moment in the interior temple of your spirit remaining like a baby in the bosom of the heavenly Father, where you will be reborn each moment in the Divine Word, Jesus Christ."

St. Paul of the Cross

  1. Micki,

I will be reminded of Christmas in a special way, each day until Lent starts, because I daily visit Vatican City State's "webcam" page.
After going to the following linked site, when I scroll down and click on the lower-middle picture (labeled "St. Peter's Basilica"), I see that the Christmas tree and huge creche are still up in St. Peter's Square. (Please enjoy the pictures, which are almost "live.")

  2. John - How nice of you to pass this along for us to go see St. Peters. Especially nice because last night at our church they gave away all the HUGE pointsetta plants. I like the keep Christmas in your heart idea.

  8. I sometimes wonder how long other families keep their creche out where our Lord can be adored as we pass by on our daily chores and the business of life's responsibilities.

In the past, we have kept Our Lord as the focus of our days in this way until the beginning of Lent.

There is always a void when the creche is taken away. Almost like a turning to the secular things of life instead of basing our days and actions around Him.

In times of stress, trial and family tradegy, even though we always know He is here, the visual remimder helps us to keep our hope and faith alive.

Although the tree is gone, our creche will remain as He will always.

  10. Anonymous - I so agree with your thoughts. I also keep a creche up year round in my curio cabinet to remind me of the blessing of His birth. And it's not a tiny little set either.

Sanctus Belle - Thank you for sharing on your blog. I hope your viewers enjoy also. You did a wonderful job with the Sorrows of Mary posts you just completed.

  12. I can't come up with anything original to add to what you and the others already said. So just know that I read with gratitude.
