Saint Pio of Pietrelcina
IMAGO SACRA MILLE GRATIARUM VALET. ("A holy picture is worth a thousand graces")................... This blog is a means to show some of my holy card collection along with some interesting thoughts and inspirations. "....artists have the privilege in the Church and throughout history, to open up so that people can see the mystery of God. The artist speaks, not just literally, but symbolically. Visual images, if well done, can move us. That's a ministry." Quote from Brother Michael Moran, C.P

St. Padre Pio of Pietrelcina Feast Day..........September 23
"I want to be only a poor Friar who prays... Pray, hope and don't worry. Worry is useless. God is merciful and will hear your prayer... Prayer is the best weapon we have; it is the key to God's heart. You must speak to Jesus not only with your lips but with your heart. In fact on certain occasions you should speak to Him only with your heart..."
Thank you for sharing the two beautiful holy cards of St. Padre Pio. He is one of my favorite Saints. May each of us learn to offer up our sufferings for the conversion of sinners and the holy souls in Purgatory as Padre Pio did through out his Blessed life! St. Padre Pio pray for us, so that we may one day enter into that blessed Kingdom prepared for all who are faithful to the Joy and King of Heaven, Jesus!! A Blessed Day to all! John K.
ReplyDeleteMicki, you've won an award - come on over to my blog to collect!
ReplyDeleteThank you Mickie for posting this.
ReplyDeleteToday, lets all pray and ask Saint Padre Pio to adopt us all as his spiritual children.
One is definitely older. It labels him "Servo Di Dio" or "Servant of God" instead of Saint.
ReplyDeleteIn the other you can see the gloves he wore to cover his stigmata.
To All - Thank you for being so faithful in coming and leaving comments. You know we are all "prayer warriors" and it is just beautiful to open the blog and see all your comments. Thank you.
ReplyDeleteThese are two pictures that I have not yet seen of St. Padre Pio. He is one of my favorite saints. His picture is beside my bed. Thank you for sharing these.
ReplyDeleteMary333 - Thanks for your comment. Be sure to watch his feast date card for 2009. Hope you enjoy that too.
