The Cup of Suffering, Wednesday of Holy Week

How consoling to think that Jesus,
divine strength itself,
has experienced all our weakness,
that He trembled at the sight of the bitter chalice,
the chalice He had longed for so ardently.

Saint Teresa, the Little Flower

  1. It's hard for me to imagine longing for suffering, or even suffering without grumbling and complaining. I can get bent out of shape when merely inconvenienced.

Yesterday's card and meditation was really awesome also. I love the Beuron cards.

    Thanks for sharing.

  2. Thankyou for this most beautiful holy card--I was so grateful to see it this morning as I have seen this portrayal of Jesus in black and white but not in color--it is so beautiful!
Let us try to wipe His tears with our sacrifices and let us join our tears to His as we must abandon our will to Him in this unpredictable time that we find ourselves in--as long as we are ever next to Him we are safe.

    I love it!

Come and visit my blog if you can. I have used one of your lovely cards once again. And this time, for a prayer poem I wrote for Holy Week.

    Love you much,

  5. I dont think Jesus feared the physical suffering so much as the spiritual suffering.

D.S. - Once again, great words, I love the picture of us wiping His tears with our sacrifices.

Easter - I love what you do with my holy cards. You can write poems or prayer-poems whenever you want. I love them.

Marie - And as we say in church "as also with you." You are right about the "spiritual suffering." Thanks for sharing here.
