IMAGO SACRA MILLE GRATIARUM VALET. ("A holy picture is worth a thousand graces")................... This blog is a means to show some of my holy card collection along with some interesting thoughts and inspirations. "....artists have the privilege in the Church and throughout history, to open up so that people can see the mystery of God. The artist speaks, not just literally, but symbolically. Visual images, if well done, can move us. That's a ministry." Quote from Brother Michael Moran, C.P
Thanks, Kay, for your help in reading the old German script in yesterday's card. You were right in deciphering the first word as "Gesegnete" and in saying that it means "blessed" (before "Christmas"). In looking up "Gesegnete Weinachten" just now, I found out that I should say something more to you, to Micki, and to everyone else today:
"Ein glückliches neues Jahr!" [A happy new year!]
Kay and Easter, I have visited your blogs. Keep up the good work and the "good works." John
John--Thank you for visiting my site. You are welcome any time. Someone sent me New Year's greetings in 117 different languages. I can't resist this one: Onnellista Uutta Vuotta! or Gelukkig Nieuwjaar
