IMAGO SACRA MILLE GRATIARUM VALET. ("A holy picture is worth a thousand graces")................... This blog is a means to show some of my holy card collection along with some interesting thoughts and inspirations. "....artists have the privilege in the Church and throughout history, to open up so that people can see the mystery of God. The artist speaks, not just literally, but symbolically. Visual images, if well done, can move us. That's a ministry." Quote from Brother Michael Moran, C.P
Wonderful image today Micki, what a Mother indeed to be able to love all of us and help us through the Power of Her Son. Such a mystery that even though she is human because of her faith and love she so perfectly did Gods will, we are all saved if we trust and love Her Son our Saviour!
The distinctive style of this card is called "Beuronese" and was praised by Pope Pius XII as a suitable modern style for ecclesiastical art, along with traditional Romanesque, Gothic, and Baroque.
