St. Francis de Sales Feast Day

Patron of the Catholic Press.

He practiced his own axiom, "A spoonful of honey attracts more flies than a barrel full of vinegar."

"The person who possesses Christian meekness is affectionate and tender towards everyone."

Oh Micki, another lovely lacey card, and one that's leading me to "adopt" St Francis de Sales as my Saint for 2008! May he and God help me access my honey, rather than my vinegar.
Best Regards, Lynneda

Friends,
I believe that the French words mean this:

"Saint Francis de Sales
Doctor of the Church
Feast - January 29 [revised calendar: January 24]
'O God! You alone satisfy me ... in you alone I find all that is necessary to my soul!' (St. F. de S.)"

John

St. Francis de Sales book "Introduction to the Devout Life" is a must on every Catholics daily reading material. His writing is not only wonderful to read but with God's grace can lead a person to much
holiness and humility.
Thanks, Micki, for the most beautiful holy card. I went to St. Francis de Sales grade and high school so he is very special to me from my childhood onwards.

Lynneda - I'll send you some "Sue Bee." (for those not familiar, that's a brand of honey :-)

John - A wonderful quote...and oh so true. Thank you.

D.S. - Thank you for sharing that title...I hope many who visit go check out that book. We all need help in guiding us in the right direction.

D.S. - An added note....I just reserved Introduction to the Devout Life from our library. Reading it should make a great Lenten project.
