IMAGO SACRA MILLE GRATIARUM VALET. ("A holy picture is worth a thousand graces")................... This blog is a means to show some of my holy card collection along with some interesting thoughts and inspirations. "....artists have the privilege in the Church and throughout history, to open up so that people can see the mystery of God. The artist speaks, not just literally, but symbolically. Visual images, if well done, can move us. That's a ministry." Quote from Brother Michael Moran, C.P

Prayer That is Answered..........September 10
"If anyone thinks that prayers are never answered, let him offer a prayer to the Lord that some suffering be sent to save a soul."
I love these mid 19th century cards, the lace edges the sweet faces! They really liked roses too. The quotation from Fulton Sheen is typical of him, so profound and yet easy to listen to.I dont think there is much symbolism to decode in todays card it is a sweet image of a faithful daughter of Mary offering prayer and recieving grace and blessings the roses may mean the Rosary.Thank you Micki and blessings to all of us who make this internet prayer group. Of your charity Pray for me,a sinner, and I will pray for you also, Amen
Sweet Micki...I love this picture...it reminds of the Rosary novena that offers a bouquet of roses to our Holy Mother for a petition of graces...love it! I also love the quote from Bishop Sheen...it is so true. Love, Prayerflowers
TO ALL - I think it has become quite clear that so many love this picture of our loving and beautiful Mother reaching out to her child. I know that we are all "her child"... we are so blessed. We love you Mary and know that your goal of bringing us to Jesus, your Son, has always been your goal. Pray for us all.
It's beautiful to know that so many also appreciate the words from Bishop Sheen. Another saint in the waiting.
Again, I enjoy reading your thoughts and feelings. Thank you for sharing.
Beautiful picture! Love the Bishop Sheen quote!
ReplyDeleteI have no doubt that is true. :)
ReplyDeleteThanks, Micki.
