not by simply saying that one believes,
but real actions and by a
heart burning with love."

St. John Chrysostom

  3. Micki,
You accidentally have "Bruning" on the title line today.

    Friends,

Just under the beautiful portrait of Jesus, the Latin words mean, "God so loved the world," words that are part of John 3:16.

The German words below that mean, "A faithful high priest in the service of God, to make expiation for the sins of the people," words that are part of Hebrews 2:17.

    John

  4. Oh, "bo-diddleymaz" ...

Speaking of spelling (as you did), it would be good for you to stop misspelling "wonderful" with two l's! ;-)

  5. John - Thank you for the "heads up" on that spelling error. I was reading and rereading what I wrote in the post but couldn't for the life of me find any mistakes...teaches me to always "look up." :-)

Thank you for today's translation. Wonderful words.

Anonymous - What...do we have a former teacher here? Only kidding. Isn't it great to see we all make mistakes?

  6. Thanks Micki,

According to http://www.newadvent.org/cathen/08452b.htm , St John had a very full and academic life. It just goes to show where a good education can take a person.

Googling Miracle of... will provide an event for that requirement for sainthood.

  8. New Viewer - Thanks for stopping by and leaving a question comment.
There originally was an error in the title...I had Bruning Heart instead of Burning Heart. One of the viewers pointed out the error to me so I could fix it. So.......... I hope there are no more spelling mistakes on this particular post. Not to say that it won't happen again....just let me know. Thanks.

  9. I removed an anonymous message about another spelling mistake. I think it's unnecessary to comment on commenters spelling. Comment on mine, it's my blog and I can fix it....others can't. Thanks.

  11. dbonneville - Thanks for thinking highly about this card. Your post brought back these comments from past comments regarding the spelling issues. I'd forgotten all those mistakes. Goes to show that we have teachers among us :-)

  12. Hi MickiL Is it possible to point me to a higher resolution version of this image? Or a name I could search for? I want to do a painting based on it, but it's too low resolution. Thanks!
