IMAGO SACRA MILLE GRATIARUM VALET. ("A holy picture is worth a thousand graces")................... This blog is a means to show some of my holy card collection along with some interesting thoughts and inspirations. "....artists have the privilege in the Church and throughout history, to open up so that people can see the mystery of God. The artist speaks, not just literally, but symbolically. Visual images, if well done, can move us. That's a ministry." Quote from Brother Michael Moran, C.P
What a wonderful depiction of Christ! It is not too often that you see him pictured in such a full blown smile. It made me smile just looking at him. Great reminder about joy. No one will believe we love Christ if we walk around sour. Thanks Micki! Stephanie
This is such a great reminder of how to be Christ-like by sharing the joy that he brings. I've been searching the internet for a place to buy this picture, but am having a hard time. What is the name of the artist?
I think this holy card was made from a section of a huge painting. It is a glossy holy card and the writing is very blurred....can't make out any name. I have never seen it available as a hanging picture so can't offer much help.

I LOVE the laughing Jesus pictures. Too bad they are so hard to find!
ReplyDeleteI should find one for my son's bedroom. What a great image of Christ to grow up with.
Stephanie - Thought you'd appreciate this quote...."From silly devotions and sour-faced saints, good Lord, deliver us!" -- St. Teresa of Avila
ReplyDeleteGinny - Sounds like a good idea. He could learn about JOY with that face of Jesus....then the message of joy (Jesus, Others, Yourself)
Great quote, Micki! Thanks for taking the time to share it with me. Stephanie

ReplyDeleteWould also love to buy a larger print of this picture for my father! Any ideas?
