IMAGO SACRA MILLE GRATIARUM VALET. ("A holy picture is worth a thousand graces")................... This blog is a means to show some of my holy card collection along with some interesting thoughts and inspirations. "....artists have the privilege in the Church and throughout history, to open up so that people can see the mystery of God. The artist speaks, not just literally, but symbolically. Visual images, if well done, can move us. That's a ministry." Quote from Brother Michael Moran, C.P
Thank you for the lovely holy cards you share with us each day. I especially love this one: I have a glass plate with this image (in color) and it is one of my favorites! In fact, I made a May altar today using it. :) But I have not seen in in sepia tone before...so lovely.
What a beautiful portrayal! Thankyou, Micki, for sharing this touching holy card.

Claire - I don't think I've ever seen a "glass plate" with this picture. I bet it was a great addition to your May altar. Thanks for the extra idea.
ReplyDeleteAny idea the name of this image? I am looking for a good image of the Holy Mother to put together our family altar. Thanks!
ReplyDeletelavatea - Sorry. Most holy cards are not named. I just named it myself "The Gaze".
