IMAGO SACRA MILLE GRATIARUM VALET. ("A holy picture is worth a thousand graces")................... This blog is a means to show some of my holy card collection along with some interesting thoughts and inspirations. "....artists have the privilege in the Church and throughout history, to open up so that people can see the mystery of God. The artist speaks, not just literally, but symbolically. Visual images, if well done, can move us. That's a ministry." Quote from Brother Michael Moran, C.P

*Waiting for the One We Love......December 18
"Advent...leads to a growing inner stillness and joy allowing me to realize that the One for whom I am waiting has already arrived and speaks to me in the silence of my heart."
Oh my! How beautiful. I love this site so much! You do a wonderful job. The cards and writings are wonderful! I will look forward to seeing one each day. I love the way you respond to the comments. You have a wonderful ministry going here!May you be blessed in this wonderful Christmas season and always! Ally
The quote you have used from Henri Nouwen is the same one I have used on my Christmas Card this year, an extract from his Eternal Light, The Genesee Diary - it is so meaningful, especially in today's world of materialism and spending frenzy at this time of the year - a beautiful reality check. Prayers and God's blessings for your site. Karl
What a unique and touching image of the Christ Child, and the text is equally moving! Henri Nouwen is one of my favorite spiritual writers, the Holy Spirit truly spoke thru him of God's wisdom and love! Thank you Micki for your kind comments of yesterday, I truly appreciate them! John K.
Ally - How wonderful to have a new friend stop by and leave a comment. Welcome. Thank you for your compliment and may you and yours be blessed also.
Karl - Thank you for your blessing also, as the kids say "back at you". You chose a very meaningful quote for your Christmas card. I'm glad I chose it for the blog also :-)
John K. - We always welcome your words shared here. I'm not too familiar with Nouwen's writings. I want to learn more in the new year. It's great to see that two commenters today mentioned her personally.
The only thing that keeps me from joining the others in gushing over every one of your cards, Micki, is i want you still to be able to get your head through the door.

ReplyDeleteIrene - You made me laugh out loud. For your information, I just got a hair cut so my head should fit through the door easily.
