IMAGO SACRA MILLE GRATIARUM VALET. ("A holy picture is worth a thousand graces")................... This blog is a means to show some of my holy card collection along with some interesting thoughts and inspirations. "....artists have the privilege in the Church and throughout history, to open up so that people can see the mystery of God. The artist speaks, not just literally, but symbolically. Visual images, if well done, can move us. That's a ministry." Quote from Brother Michael Moran, C.P
Beautiful and interesting card, Micki. It appears to be made of something other than paper. Is it leather surrounded by a metal frame -- or is that only a clever illusion?
It's the first case I've seen of a depiction of Our Lady of Guadalupe that is not an attempted "replica" of the miraculous image on St. Juan Diego's tilma.
Oh My Goodness Micki, this picture is absolutey beautiful. I am a little late on the pc today. I had some medical appts last few days.
ReplyDeleteBut I am glad I am here today...and I noticed I miss a few good days as well.
You are a true angel from heaven to bring so much love to all of us here...God bless you precious,
Love,
Prayerflowers

Prayerflowers - How good to read your comments. I am glad you are doing a bit better....stay strong.
ReplyDeleteWife, mother and so much more - May our Lady bless you. Thank you.
John - This card has what I call a "crackle" finish, a popular method years ago to make the image more striking.
