IMAGO SACRA MILLE GRATIARUM VALET. ("A holy picture is worth a thousand graces")................... This blog is a means to show some of my holy card collection along with some interesting thoughts and inspirations. "....artists have the privilege in the Church and throughout history, to open up so that people can see the mystery of God. The artist speaks, not just literally, but symbolically. Visual images, if well done, can move us. That's a ministry." Quote from Brother Michael Moran, C.P

Feast of St. Therese of the Child Jesus.....October 1
A Happy Feast Day to all those that have a great love and devotion to our little saint from Lisieux! May she continually inspire each of us to follow her example and surrender ALL to Jesus our Best Friend! I love you Ste. Therese! John K.
I don't know how to make it 'clickable' from here. Sorry. But you can copy and paste the site name into the address bar at top of the screen to get to it.
St. Therese is justly admired, and many of the things she said are wonderful quotes. But this one is sometimes unrealistic -- many people respond to trials by turning away from God.
Once again I thank ALL for your comments and additions to this blog. Thank you all.
It is so nice to see others who have a devotion to St. Therese.
Adrienne - Yes, many do retreat from God during trials. But I think when a trial is truly something difficult, unsolvable or unacceptable, they might learn they are not always in charge or control and thereby turn to God (assuming a faith in the first place.) But you are right that there are some who feel God is to blame and therefore turn away. How sad.

ReplyDeleteMy Grandmother always prayed to St. Theresa for me.
