IMAGO SACRA MILLE GRATIARUM VALET. ("A holy picture is worth a thousand graces")................... This blog is a means to show some of my holy card collection along with some interesting thoughts and inspirations. "....artists have the privilege in the Church and throughout history, to open up so that people can see the mystery of God. The artist speaks, not just literally, but symbolically. Visual images, if well done, can move us. That's a ministry." Quote from Brother Michael Moran, C.P

Angel..........July 5
"Make yourself familiar with the angels,
and behold them frequently in spirit,
for without being seen, they are present with you."
..."Thank You"...Micki...for such a beautiful card and quote! I visit each morning early to your site for your inspirational gifts, around noon and then close of the day also enjoying your friends observations. God bless you and your wonderful ministry! ~Freda~
The Italian words at the bottom of the card mean, "Angel of Blessed Angelico." The last two words may refer to the man pictured in the upper right corner. At the Daily Saints and Blesseds site, I found the following, which may be the person to whom the card refers:
Bl. John the Angelic di Pietro of Vicchio [Giovanni Angelico] [baptized Guido (Guy)] [better known as "Fra Angelico"] (Italian, Dominican friar, religious artist, died at about age 67 in 1455 [beatified 1982])
Fra Angelico was a famous painter, some of whose works can be enjoyed by clicking on the small pictures at this site. Fra Angelico painted many angels, as can be seen by scrolling down at this site.
Freda - You are something special, I can't believe a 3x daily visitor. I too love reading the comments....I have such good blogging friends. Thank you for taking the time to drop a comment. I do enjoy reading them all.
John - Sharing all this information is just too special. You have such a background of knowledge of all kinds. Thank you for sharing them here with everyone.

Ed - Thank you Ed.....I need a good protector...and "he" sounds just perfect.
