"Prayer purifies us, reading instructs us. If a man wants to be always in God's company, he must pray regularly and read regularly. When we pray, we talk to God; when we read, God talks to us."
St. Isidore of Seville
The Latin words on the card mean,
"Go, teach all nations"
Regarding St. Isidore's comment - Yes! God's Word is available to us in soooo many ways. Perhaps prayer puts us in the Word and reading puts the Word in us. How blessed we are! The Word is available to us perpetually, unendingly, eternally, sometimes bidden, sometimes unbidden!
ReplyDeleteAnother note, Micki, for those interested, and which I'm very excited about:
Web searching, I learned that EWTN will broadcast a Solemn High Mass on the Solemnity of the Precious Blood, on July 1, 2008. The two EWTN web pages below contain the schedule:

Sorry to be so late, friends.
ReplyDeleteThe Latin words on the card mean, "Go, teach all nations" -- as Jesus told his Apostles to do.
John
Friend Of Our Lord - Great words for us all. Also I hope others will learn about EWTN thanks to your information about the site. Thank you for taking the time to post it here.
ReplyDeleteJohn - We should also try to teach our next-door neighbors. I think Mother Teresa always spoke about loving (teaching) those right around you.
