Confession..........June 8

"Confession heals, confession justifies, confession grants pardon of sin. All hope consists in confession. In confession there is mercy. Believe it firmly, do not hesitate, never despair of the mercy of God."

St. Isidore of Seville

The German words mean this:"I absolve you of your sins in the Name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen. (Roman Ritual)"

Thanks to John for translation

  4. I was wondering if this is a modern reproduction? It's odd that the stole on the confessor isn't completely violet and that he isn't wearing a cassock & cotta...

  5. Miguel,
I got the card out again, there is some foreign writing, German I think on the back. It is printed with B.K. which stands for an old publisher. That's about all I can say....don't know why the artist depicted it like that. There is a whole series with all the sacraments and they all look old to me.
