Here is the meaning of the French words on this card:
"May we offer you, at this hour, o Jesus, the good will that your angels recommend to us."
In your wildest imagination, can you fathom what the Blessed Virgin Mary must have felt and thought as she was about to give birth to Jesus? That was real! And it is real that Jesus is present in our lives, in our heart and soul!
ReplyDeleteI worry about those that don't have a clue what Christmas means, couldn't care less about what happens to them when they die. Could we continue to pray for them, and especially as Christ's birthday approaches. It will probably be like trying to herd an unknown number of cats, but if one or two go through the gate, that is better than none.
Lovely card. I like the doiley look.
ReplyDeleteFr. Larry - Please let me know what site of yours you would like me to add to my blog list. It's really not appropriate to plug other sites without prior permission. I'm sure you have a link to the site you posted here and commenters can go to your site to follow through. Thanks for your understanding.
ReplyDeleteAnonymous - I can hardly "fathom" that Jesus comes to me personally in Holy Communion let alone trying to imagine Mary's feelings.
ReplyDeleteYes, we must pray for those lost souls.
Gardenia - Wonderful word "doiley" look. They are called "paper lace" and are always a treasured card. Thanks.
Micki, Thank you for your prayers, I deeply appreciate your kindness. God Bless you!
ReplyDeleteA very beautifully detailed card, esp. the lace that surrounds the image. It's a shame that this type of craftmanship isn't practised today. John K.
John K. - May peace come to you knowing there is a "s" on the word "prayer". Insert big smile here :-)
