IMAGO SACRA MILLE GRATIARUM VALET. ("A holy picture is worth a thousand graces")................... This blog is a means to show some of my holy card collection along with some interesting thoughts and inspirations. "....artists have the privilege in the Church and throughout history, to open up so that people can see the mystery of God. The artist speaks, not just literally, but symbolically. Visual images, if well done, can move us. That's a ministry." Quote from Brother Michael Moran, C.P
I need to be still. how beautiful that silence is what we need in order to hear the Holy Spirit. All the other noises -- schedules and parties and wrapping gifts and shopping and busy-ness -- keep us from the silence. we are making those noises we hear. be still my heart, and listen for His love.
I love this image and this reminder. It's funny how the Holy Spirit used to be the most elusive member of the Trinity for me ... but not any more. Now, I feel that I understand the H.S. more than I'd ever have thought possible. Talk about a blessing!
Wow! I love the quote posted for today! The words speak volumes to the soul. I have always believed that we need to get away from all the distractions, noise etc. so that we can hear the voice of Jesus speaking to our hearts. Only when we remove as much as possible the distractions of the world will we be transformed into the likeness of Him who is Love itself!
I find it so distressing, when I hear others say, "Oh, its Christmas again! Don't mention it because it costs so much!" If people turn their focus on "The Reason for the Season" Jesus Himself will they have a change of heart. If you don't want to be a part of the materialistic mentality of our times then "REAL REFORM" MUST BEGIN WITHOURSELVES. Let us give the "Gift" of our hearts and lives to Jesus who gave us so much from the very begining! Sweet Child from Heaven thru the help of your Grace let me remove all the "Noise" from my heart so that when you arrive on Christmas Day you will find it a place to lay your sweet head to find rest and the gift of love that I wish to give you! Thank You Micki for this message today. Also to the first person's comment is simply beautiful, I loved it! Thank you also. John K.
Gardenia - Isn't it amazing what thoughts actually come into your head during silence? I love it...but then I also love "noise" when appropriate.
Ginny - OMG...I have felt this same way so often recently. The Spirit was the gift to us from Jesus when he went back to heaven. He is with us (the Spirit) yet so many have no feelings for that love given to us by "Love".
EbethW - Thank you for your compliment and for passing the message on to your readers.
John K. - You do have a beautiful way with words. I loved everything you mentioned and I agree with all my heart. I do have to work hard at keeping that noise away myself....of course the sacrament of confession helps put that peace back in our heart where the silence can remain, even amid the noise. Does that make any sense??
Good Evening Micki! Thank you for your kind words. I truly understand, it does make sense. I also struggle with this, as I like to talk, got me into lots of trouble as a child in school. Thank you for having this beautiful and meaningful site for all of us to find "spiritual nourishment" for our souls. Blessings to you and yours,John K.
