IMAGO SACRA MILLE GRATIARUM VALET. ("A holy picture is worth a thousand graces")................... This blog is a means to show some of my holy card collection along with some interesting thoughts and inspirations. "....artists have the privilege in the Church and throughout history, to open up so that people can see the mystery of God. The artist speaks, not just literally, but symbolically. Visual images, if well done, can move us. That's a ministry." Quote from Brother Michael Moran, C.P
I love the words of old prayers like this so eloquent.
O God, who art the author of peace and lover of concord, in knowledge of whom standeth our eternal life, whose service is perfect freedom; defend us thy humble servants in all assaults of our enemies; that we, surely trusting in thy defence, may not fear the power of any adversaries; through the might of Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
Thank you to all commenters. It brings great pleasure knowing that you all love this prayer. I pray St. Thomas Aquinas touches your soul with his great love and wisdom.
I AGREE WITH ALL OF THE OTHER BLOGGERS COMMENTS, THIS IS SIMPLY A BEAUTIFUL PRAYER THAT TOUCHES THE HUMAN SPIRIT. THANK YOU MICKI FOR SHARING YOUR "TREASURE" OF HOLY CARDS FOR THE REST OF US TO ENJOY THEIR BEAUTY AND INSPIRATION. HOPE YOU ARE DOING WELL! JOHN K.
This is a wonderful card and a beautiful saying. I am going to pass this out to the inmates at the jail this week. The inmates in jail need to realize love one another which is a hard concept for them. Thank you
A beautiful prayer to say over and over again today.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Micki!
