"As our body cannot live without nourishment,
so our soul cannot spiritually be kept alive
without prayer."
St. Augustine
Here is the meaning of the French words on the card:
{At the top:}
"Daily Mass -- or the Day's Sunshine"
{On the signs/ribbons within the image:}
[On the left, above the basket of fruit labeled, 'Yesterday:'] "Yesterday - God Alone"
[On the right, above the empty basket labeled, 'Today:'] "Today: To Work, To Love, To Suffer, To Pray and To Hope."
{At the bottom:}
"He sacrifices Himself ... and I unite myself to Him, everywhere and always! The Lord is the Light of my spirit and the Life of my heart. Each morning, I come to Him, and His blessing follows me all day long."

From the depths I cry unto thee, Lord hear my prayer and hearken unto me.
A very beautiful holy card and the words of St.Augustine touch the soul.
Micki, I am glad that you had this time to see and enjoy the beauty of Gods creation and to have quality time with those who are dear to your heart. Although, I didn't leave a comment each day, I did visit and found food for my poor soul. I will be leaving tomorrow for a Igantian Silent Retreat in Phoenix, please be so kind as to remember me as I assure you of being remembered in a "special way" in my prayer time. The retreat will be for 6 days, no speaking, boy will that be hard for me, but trust that the Lord will supply me the necessary graces to keep my mouth shut and listen to His voice. A blessed weekend to you and all of your visitors! Thank you for sharing your collection with the rest of us who so much appreicate their beauty and words of inspirtation that touches the soul. John K.
Daily Mass is really the sun of the day as it says on the card. The day started with Holy Mass is truly blessed.

Micki,
I will have to come back to this one. That's an awful lot of French for my weak little mind to deal with at 10:20 PM!

I love St. Augustine's words. He always places the core of his statement at the forefront, and explains such complex things, in the simplest of ways.
I had to post this card on my blog:

Angels Defenc Us - I'm a fan of St. Augustine also. We are so blessed to "hear" his words.
There is a way to put the holy card on your blog...go to your blogger "HELP" section to read how easy it is to do. I do thank you for mentioning my blog on yours. Blessings.
diddleymaz - Another beautiful verse. Thanks.
John K. - How encouraging to read that you found "food for your soul" here. Praise HIM.
Blessings on you during your retreat. It sounds like something that would be a beautiful experience. I pray you feel His love in a special way.
Ceci - So true. A goal I don't always achieve...but I see I must try harder.
John - Please don't worry about it...there is enough keeping you busy now. Take care and God Bless.
John - Woops, I didn't see the translation until now...I'll add it to the blog page. Thank You.
