To all my dear dear friends,

The time has come for me to bring this holy card blog to an end. I can't believe over two and a half years have gone by (it's actually three and a half years but I took the first year's cards off the blog). It has been my joy and privilege to share my collection and love of holy cards with each and every one of you.

To those who so loyally sent words of friendship and encouragement, I will miss you. To those out there who stopped by but didn't leave any messages, I can only say "thank you". Seeing the number of visitors increase over time (over 337,000 "hits" from US and over 147 countries.....PRAISE GOD) told me that there were many of you who came frequently, if not daily. To those of you, my special blogging friends, who left comments and taught me as much if not more than what I shared with you, I will deeply miss checking the computer each day to read your words. Thank you.

The card posted today is special because it was given to me by a nun decades ago. It was the very beginning of something that grew into this collection that I enjoyed bringing to you. The words on the card touched a little girl's heart and still touches a senior citizen today. And so I pass these words on to all of you.

Remember the words......"See, O See, How I Love Thee". We love Him, He loves us, and I love you.

PS If I could be allowed one further suggestion....use my blog to come back daily and start with the first post of 2008 (shown in the left side-bar)....use the quotes as mini-prayers for the day.
That will keep you busy for the next 2.5 years :-)
It's just impossible to scan all the quotes quickly and still be touched by words left for our inspiration. Maybe I'll even meet you while I'm doing the same.

Placed in the Tomb.....April 3

Joseph of Arimathea asked for the body of Jesus and wrapped it in a clean linen sheet and laid it in a new tomb that had been hewn from rock.

Because of Jesus' claims, the religious leaders were almost as afraid of Jesus after death as when he was alive. Precautions were taken and guards posted so no one could steal the body.

The Pharisees failed to understand that no rock, seal, guard, or army could prevent the Son of God from rising again.

The high priests and members of the Sanhedrin should have recognized the Messiah because they knew the Scriptures thoroughly. But, they were more concerned about preserving their reputations and holding on to their authority. They valued human security more than eternal security.

May we always keep our eyes ahead to the eternal joy and home waiting for us and not get trapped in thinking the security of our human life is more important.

Peter said he would never disown Christ, despite Jesus' prediction. But when frightened, he went against all he promised. He failed as a disciple and as a friend.

We need to be aware of our own breaking points and not become overconfident or self-sufficient. If we fail him, we must remember that Christ forgives and can use those who recognize their failure as He did Peter.

Judged by Pilate.....March 23

Pilate wanted to release Jesus, but the crowd loudly demanded his death. Pilate gave in to mass hysteria.

We are like Pilate when we know what is right but decide not to do it. Don't fall to peer pressure. Sometimes the right decision has unpleasant consequences: social rejection, career derailment, public ridicule. Think of Pilate then stand up for right.

Judas may have realized that Jesus' kingdom was not physical or political, but spiritual. His greedy desire for money and status could not be realized if he followed Jesus, so he betrayed Jesus in exchange for money and favor from the religious leaders.

Do we "betray" Jesus for money also....do we place more importance on jobs and entertainment than on Him?
